SE ASIA - DAY 57 - PHUKET - Free and Easy

So I have booked a tour involving taking a yacht early in the morning going to the Coral Island and Raya Island costing about SGD70. That includes a car transfer from the hotel and sending all the way back to the hotel, including a lunch on the yacht itself, quite a good deal I thought.

Indeed, the car came and picked me up timely at 7.05am.
It sent me to the Chalong Pier some 30mins away where I am joined by another 13 tourist onto the same yacht. The tour guide was well versed with the Chinese language and most of the tourist there are Chinese.

Scenery was great, you can get to roam around in very corner of the yacht to take pictures.

Some 40mins later, we arrived at the Coral Island. The pier is interesting, actually like a lego of big empty bottles pieced together to form a walking platform.

You get to do water sports like Parasailing, walking on the seabed wearing a spaceman helmet and many other activities. Or simply enjoying the clear water beach.

The beach was beautiful and the water was really clear.

There are stalls all manned well versed with Chinese language and they sell tidbits at really marked up prices.

After a 2 hours free activities here, we board the yacht again and have lunch on-board while heading for the Raya Island. Lunch was quite a good selection of noodles, rice and a variety of 6 dishes. No too bad a all. Free drinks provided throughout the trip, Thai cola or mineral water.

We reached the Raya island after an hour.
This island was beautiful, the water is also very clear. They feature a diving experience for people without PADI licence at 2,100THB. What ? Diving without licence ? Isn't it dangerous ? Well, they claimed that they will have an instructor accompany you all the time.

Ok, I was tempted, but I thought it is still dangerous without the proper training to dive to as deep as 5 meters. So I gave it a missed.

I enjoyed the beer there instead.

Then it's back into the Yacht again and they drove it out into the sea a little and allow us to snorkel with all the gears provided. I managed to snap some videos using my water-proof action camera.

Then the sky starts to turn a bit cloudy, was worried if it would rain.
The crew then stalled the Yacht brought out some hand-reels and handed over to us for fishing.
So all of us threw in the hook with the squid bait, oh boy, the bait really stinks. Can't wait to wash my hands after touching it.

Of course, no one caught anything in the next 20 mins before the weather really turned bad. So the captain requested us to pack up the reel and let's head back before the storm arrive.

It did started to rain before we arrive back at the same Chalong Pier. The car was already waiting for me there. How nice. Reached the hotel at about 8.30pm due to the really bad traffic. Took a quick shower and head out for late dinner.

Tired day, but, it was quite an enjoyable day.
